The Women Of Daytime Television
Playboy has been highly successful in selling magazines that follow a certain theme. The Women of Wal-Mart, the Women of McDonalds and the Women Of Starbucks are just a few examples. However, when Playboy approached the various TV networks about doing a Women of Network News pictorial, the parties they were most interested in declined. When discussions began about doing a feature on the Women of Daytime Television, most were skeptical, but a few anxious bodies volunteered for the shoot.
Julie Chen, a co-anchor on CBS’s The Early Show, Kathy Lee Gifford from NBC’s Today Show, Elisabeth Hasselbeck from ABC’s The View and Ellen Degeneres have all taken part in this historic photoshoot.
The staff at Extremely Funny are pleased to be able to offer an exclusive sneek-peek of pictures fromĀ the recent shoot.
Most disappointed in the resulting shoot are the executives from the Fox News Network, who had shown considerable interest in the original Women of Network News concept, only to get excluded from the recent photoshoot. A representative from Fox stated:
“We believe that we indeed have the most beautiful anchors and correspondents on network television, and felt that a pictorial in Playboy could only help improve America’s perception on women in the news field. While disappointed in our exclusion from Playboy, we are proud to announce that we have already finalized a deal with a competing publisher, and feel that the pictures taken exemplify what Fox News and our female counterparts represent.”
While photos from the shoot have not yet been released to the media, images of the magazine cover have been leaked to various media outlets.
